Mo for Meng: Key Endorsements in NY-6

Gridlock in Congress is gonna be no match for NY’s Grace Meng, one of EMILY’s List most recent endorsed candidates. Just today, Meng achieved the nearly impossible – bringing four, count ‘em, four likely candidates for Mayor in New York City together to agree on one critical thing: Grace Meng.

NYC Council Speaker Christine Quinn (another EMILY’s List hero; click here to see coverage of her and EL President Stephanie Schriock together talking about getting more women into politics), NYC Public Advocate Bill de Blasio, NYC Comptroller John Liu, and former Comptroller Bill Thompson came together to endorse Grace Meng in her historic race to represent the diverse neighborhoods of NY’s 6th Congressional district. All have worked with Meng – an accomplished legislator who’s worked hard for women, families, and seniors – and they pledged to roll up their sleeves and work hard to help her win this tough – and critical – race.

This is a tough three-way primary for a newly-open seat. With such a compressed timeline, endorsements like these are critical, and today’s impressive showing of four leaders – all with different priorities and different profiles, but all totally committed to electing a hard-working congresswoman who will fight for the folks of her district and the progressive values they share, is great momentum for Grace Meng!
